Un genre de merchandising haut de gamme si je comprends bien. https://economictimes.indiatimes.com. indian-firm-rejects-allegations-over-supply-of-rafale-replica An Indian firm on Tuesday said it supplied 50 replicas of Rafale aircraft to its maker Dassault Aviation, a day after a fresh controversy erupted over the fighter jets' deal following a French media report. French publication 'Mediapart', citing an investigation by the country's anti-corruption agency, reported that Dassault Aviation had paid about one million Euros to Defsys Solutions for 50 models of the aircraft which were to be given as "gifts […]

F-35 Upgrades See Costs Surging by $2 Billion, GAO Says https://www.bloomberg.com.  f-35-upgrade-program-sees-costs-surge-by-2-billion-gao-says A Pentagon project to upgrade the F-35 jet with new capabilities every six months has seen about $2 billion in recent cost growth and continued delays as the result of an unrealistic schedule, according to congressional auditors. The Pentagon and Lockheed Martin Corp. haven’t been able to follow their plan for “Block 4” upgrade work on the next-generation fighter, the Government Accountability Office said Thursday in a new annual report on the almost two-decade, $398 billion program. In addition to not meeting timeframes they established for the upgrades, Lockheed and the Defense Department haven’t updated their estimates for future deliveries of the stealthy jet to reflect earlier delays in completing work. “The F-35 program is more than three years into Block 4 development, but it has not delivered new capabilities as planned,” the agency said in its report. The current schedule, “as planned, is not based on the most recent data available and is not achievable.” According to the report, GAO auditors found software defects weren’t being caught before they were installed on aircraft and that it was taking longer than planned to develop each new capability. The agency recommended that the Pentagon revise the schedule to reflect Bethesda, Maryland-based Lockheed’s actual progress. ‘Routinely Underestimated’ “The program routinely underestimated the amount of work needed to develop capabilities, which has resulted in delays, and has not reflected historical performance into its remaining work schedule,” GAO said. 15. US Air Force

Les sujets actuels se propagent meme dans l’USAF. https://thehill.com. tucker-carlson-comments-cause-military-rage Senior military leaders are voicing support for women in the military after Fox News host Tucker Carlson complained on his show about recent changes meant to attract and retain more female service members. “Women lead our most lethal units with character,” tweeted Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael Grinston, the service’s top enlisted leader. “They will dominate ANY future battlefield we’re called to fight on. @TuckerCarlson’s words are divisive, don’t reflect our values. We have THE MOST professional, educated, agile, and strongest [noncommissioned officer] Corps in the world.” What was said: On Monday, President Biden marked International Women’s Day by touting the recent promotion of two female generals. In his speech, Biden also touched on efforts in recent years to better accommodate women in the military, including work to design maternity flight suits and updating grooming standards to allow for a wider range of hairstyles. "So we've got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits. Pregnant women are going to fight our wars. It's a mockery of the U.S. military,” Carlson said. “While China’s military becomes more masculine as it has assembled the world’s largest navy, our military needs to become as Joe Biden says more feminine, whatever feminine means anymore,” he continued. What Carlson left out: Carlson delivered the monologue next to a picture of an Air Force officer, who was wearing an artificial bump, modeling a flight suit designed for pregnant women. The Air Force has been working on buying maternity flight suits after announcing in 2019 that it would allow pilots to continue flying longer into their pregnancies without a waiver. Meanwhile, in January, the Army unveiled new grooming standards that had been recommended in December, also under President Trump. The Pentagon’s response: Asked about Carlson’s comments Thursday, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby relayed Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s “revulsion” at the segment. “What we absolutely won't do is take personnel advice from a talk show host, or the Chinese military, and maybe those folks feel like they have something to prove, that’s on them,” Kirby told reporters. When asked about Carlson’s comments later on Thursday, Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville told reporters he is proud of the 185,000 women who "serve with distinction every day” in the service, adding that “it’s insulting to those women to have a comment like that." […]

Boeing propose des KC-46 à la location à l’Inde https://www.financialexpress.com. us-aerospace-giant-boeing-offers-kc-46-tankers-to-iaf The US aerospace Boeing Company is open to leasing KC-46tanker, a derivative of the Boeing 767 passenger aircraft to the Indian Air Force (IAF), which is seeking quotes for mid-air refuellers. Confirming this to Financial Express Online, in an exclusive interaction with Financial Express Online, Torbjorn Sjogren, VP, International Government & Defence, Boeing Global Services, said “We are in talks with the IAF for KC-46tanker. There is a requirement for air-to-air refuelling and we are working through certain issues. We are open to leasing these tankers. We already lease commercial aircraft to various domestic airlines in India; we understand there is provision for leasing military platforms in the Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP).” […]

    Le F-35

Ca resume bien les articles recents: https://thehill.com. the-f-35-tells-everything-thats-broken-in-the-pentagon It’s official: The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter is a “rathole” of taxpayer money, something defense experts already knew — at least those without dubious ties to the military industrial blob. Now the House Armed Services Committee chairman has joined the ranks of the outraged, saying that when he thinks about the F-35, he thinks about “failure on a massive freaking scale.” The F-35 is an allegory for everything that’s broken in our Department of Defense, which receives more money than the rest of the federal interagency, combined. In fact, we spend more on our armed forces than the next 10 biggest militaries in the world, combined. What are we getting for our tax dollars? Unfortunately, the F-35. Budgets are moral documents because they do not lie. The F-35 is the most expensive weapon in history, with a projected lifetime cost of $1.7 trillion. That’s more than Russia’s GDP, all spent on a single-seat plane. In fact, if this aircraft were a country, its GDP would rank 11th in the world, ahead of Saudi Arabia. Buying one costs around $110 million a copy, nearly double the price of a Boeing 737-600 airliner. F-35s are also expensive to fly. Each hour in the air costs $44,000, more than twice the cost of the F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon and F/A-18 Super Hornet. […]
