NEW DELHI: India has finalised the plan to acquire 30 weaponised Sea Guardian (or Predator-B) drones in yet another proposed mega defence deal with the US, even as New Delhi remains steadfast about going ahead with its deal inked for the Russian S-400 Triumf missile systems despite mounting pressure from the Trump administration.

Une bonne nouvelle en prémisse de  MMRCA2....

Dassault Aviation likely to start making Rafale parts in India this year for global clients

French defence major Dassault Aviation is likely to start manufacturing parts of the Rafale fighter jets at its India facility this year, with the wares destined for global customers, ThePrint has learnt.

The Indian facility, a joint venture with Anil Ambani’s Reliance Defence, is located in Nagpur. According to industry sources, the French firm has already carried out a test production of certain parts that could be manufactured here. A formal announcement to this effect, they said, could come in September, when the first of the 36 Rafale ordered by the Indian Air Force are handed over in France.

The Nagpur facility of Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL) is currently making cockpits for the French manufacturer’s Falcon business jets, besides other parts. It is being used as a “test bed” for the possible manufacturing of fighter jet parts.

The industry sources told ThePrint that the plan was to start with smaller parts like the undercarriage door, before going on to bigger ones.

India Begins User Trials of Russian Air-to-Air Missiles, Destroys UK-Made Drone in Drill

In the first indication that Russian missiles are being used by India's primary warplanes, including the Su-30MKI and Mirage 2000, the Indian Air Force has started user trials of next generation air-to-air missiles manufactured by Vympel, a subsidiary of Russia's consolidated JSC Tactical Missiles Corporation.

The RVV-BD missile weighs 500-kg and features a 60-kg warhead. During the endgame, it is capable of 8g manoeuvring, flying at Mach 6. The RVV-MD is ab export version of the R-74, which has increased anti-jamming protection, including optical jamming.

Earlier, it was reported that the Indian Air Force intended to replace the Su-30 MKI's current close combat missile — the Russian-built Vympel R-73 — with the European ASRAAM heat-seeking close combat air-to-air missile in phases.

Defence sources said the short-range air-to-air missile was fired from the fighter aircraft as part of a user trial. The exercise was aimed at gauging the killing efficiency of the weapon system.

France Seeks Cooperation From India for Aviation, Defence Industries

This choice was evident at the Aero India air show in Bangalore last February. With 49 French companies present, and a lot of military and civilian aircraft, France was, by far, the foremost foreign participant in the exhibition," he said.

"As a matter of fact, Make-in-India has been a reality for the French industry for many years, particularly for defence equipment such as helicopters, missiles, submarines, aircraft engines and others. Our relations in this area date back to India's Independence and are being continuously strengthened. Today our strategic partnership is the strongest and closest we have in the Asia-Pacific region," Ziegler said.

"French industrial facilities in India, big and small, which we are strongly supporting, are indeed flourishing, and this is good news, especially because more and more Indian companies are also investing in France, like for instance Motherson, which is here with us today. We are also strongly supporting this investment from India in France as our strategic partnership is a two-way partnership, between partners and friends," he said.

8g pour un missile Air air c'est ridicule, il doit y avoir une erreur.
