http://www.aeroplans.fr/Aviation-militaire/politique-exportation-japon-f35.html

2002 : 49 262 milliards de yens

2011 : 46 625 milliards de yens

2012 :4,64 billion.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSn9AXKQyz4&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Et un article de Jane's:

Japan's Technical Research & Development Institute (TRDI) has rolled out a prototype of what it calls the 105 mm Maneuver Combat Vehicle (MCV).

This 8x8 vehicle, which was unveiled by the TRDI's Ground Systems Research Centre at Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, has been developed to meet requirements for a vehicle with a high level of strategic mobility and firepower that can be rapidly deployed by air, land or sea.

Local media reported that Mitsubishi Heavy Industries will manufacture the MCV, with the first units expected to enter Japan Ground Self-Defence Force (JGSDF) service in Fiscal Year 2016.

The JGSDF currently deploys the 105 mm-armed Type 74 tracked self-propelled howitzer and 120 mm-armed Type 90 and Type 10 main battle tanks but these cannot be used in all types of terrain and can only be transported over long distances by heavy equipment transporters.

The MCV has a reported maximum speed of up to 100 km/h and with a combat weight of about 26 tons, is more agile than its tracked predecessors. It also matches the minimum payload of the new Kawasaki C-2 tactical transport that Japan is building.

The MCV's turret is mounted towards the rear of the hull and is armed with a 105 mm rifled gun that features a pepper pot muzzle brake, thermal sleeve and fume extractor. The gun is laid onto the target by a computerised fire control system that includes day/thermal sights for the commander and gunner.

The commander has a panoramic roof mounted sight, indicating that hunter/killer target engagements could take place. A 7.62 mm machine gun (MG) is mounted co-axial with the main armament and there is also a roof-mounted MG. The all-welded hull and turret has appliqué armour and it is possible that laser detectors are fitted to form the first element of a defensive aids system.

In concept the MCV is similar to the Italian 105 mm Centauro (8x8) armoured car/mobile gun system, 400 of which have been built for the Italian Army and 84 for the Spanish Army. Italy has also developed the Freccia armoured infantry fighting vehicle (AIFV) and a complete family of specialised versions using components of the Centauro.

It is probable that Japan will use the baseline MCV as the basis for a complete family of 8x8 wheeled vehicles and there is also the potential for a 120 mm version in the longer term.

Army of Japan unveils its new MCV 8x8 High Mobility Combat Vehicle armed with a 105mm gun.

The Technical Research & Development Institute of Japan's Ministry of Defense unveils its new 8x8 Mobile Combat Vehicle (MCV). The vehicle is an eight-wheeled armored personnel carrier equipped with a three-man turret mounted in the center of the hull and armed with a 105mm gun.

The new 8x8 MCV High Mobility Combat Vehicle unveiled to the press by the Technical Research & Development Institute of Japan's Ministry of Defense.

The new 8x8 MCV is motorized with a water-cooled four-cylinder diesel engine developing 570 hp. at 2,100 rpm. The vehicle is able to reach a maximum road speed of 100 km.

The MCV has a combat weight of about 26 tons and measures 8.45 m length, 2.98 width, and 2.87 m height.

The layout of the new 8x8 MCV is very similar to the Italian 8x8 Centauro tank destroyer, but for the MCV the driver is seated at the front of the hull on the right side with the power pack to the left.

The MCV turret is armed with 105mm which is equipped with a thermal sleeve and fume extractor. A 7.62mm coaxial machine gun is mounted to the right side of the main armament. A 12.7mm machine gun is mounted on the loader hatch. At the front part of the commander position, there is a panoramic sight.

The 8x8 MCV is also fitted with a computerized fire control system which incorporates day/night thermal vision for the gunner and commander. A weather sensor made by the French Company Thales is mounted at the top rear part of the turret and laser detectors are fitted at the front. The hull and the turret are equipped with add-on armour to increase protection against new threats of the battlefield as IEDs (improvised explosive device) and RPG (rocket-propelled grenade) rockets.

Since 2008, the Japanese Technical Research & Development Institute of ministry of Defense has made several prototypes. And the latest vehicle was the fourth prototype completed at the end of September 2013. It is scheduled to be tested in 2014 or 2015 by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and deployed in 2016.

Une info qui a son intérêt :

Japan Buys Thales Bushmasters

(Source: Thales Australia, issued April 7, 2014)

The Japanese Ministry of Defence has ordered four Bushmaster vehicles for deployment with the Japan Ground Self-Defence Force (JGSDF).

The vehicles, all troop carrier variants, will be manufactured at the company’s facility in Bendigo, Victoria in Australia, for delivery in late 2014.

Thales Australia CEO Chris Jenkins said: “This new export order demonstrates the ongoing significance and versatility of the Bushmaster vehicle.

“With effective operational deployment across Afghanistan and Iraq, the Bushmaster has proven its effectiveness across urban landscapes as well as mountainous regions, making it uniquely suited to Japan’s geographic and urban environments.

“This is the first time that Thales is providing platforms to Japan. Our aim is to be customer focused and to offer Thales Group’s seamless and convenient services and technologies to our customers in Japan. We look forward to working closely with the Japanese Ground Self-Defence Force as these vehicles enter service.”

The Thales Bushmaster is a true success story with over 1,000 vehicles already sold in Australia, the Netherlands and Jamaica.

Thales Australia is a trusted partner of the Australian Defence Force and is also present in commercial sectors ranging from air traffic management to security systems and services. Employing around 3,200 people in over 35 sites across the country, Thales Australia recorded revenues of AUD 1 billion in 2012.
