French E-2D Advanced Hawkeyes To Feature Aerial Refueling Capability
QuoteThe future E-2D Advanced Hawkeyes of the French Navy (Marine Nationale) will come with aerial refueling capability, Naval News has learned from the Directorate General of Armaments (DGA).
Contacted by Naval News, the DGA officer in charge of the E-2D program confirmed that the future French E-2Ds will feature aerial refueling capability:
“The French E-2Ds will be equipped with an in-flight refueling probe. The following French aircraft should be able to refuel them: Rafale M, A400M, MRTT, KC130J and future refuelers.”Naval News understands that the “future refuelers” mentioned above is related to the future aircraft carrier’s air wing ability to refuel its own aircraft. This will be the Rafale M replacement (known as NGF) or could even be an unmanned aerial refueler (something similar to the MQ-25)

Royal Navy’s New Type 32 Frigate To Serve As Unmanned Systems Mothership
British MP Jeremy Quin, Minister of State for Defence Procurement, shed some fresh light on the future Type 32 frigate of the Royal Navy today, answering a parliamentary question: The Type 32 will serve as mothership for unmanned systems.
...
Today's statement by Jeremy Quin has to be linked with last week's £184m contract award for the Maritime Mine Counter Measure (MMCM) program.
...
Until today, rumors made mention of the unmanned systems would being (initially) deployed from OSV type vessels of opportunity (this will be tested in the Gulf in the near future) and then from the future Type 26 and Type 31 frigates. It appears that the future “drone mothership” for the MMCM systems will actually be the Type 32 Frigate, acting as Hunt-class and Sandown-class replacement.
...
As Naval News has reported in the past, the navies of Singapore (MRCV) and Japan (30FFM) are working on such projects. So are the navies of Belgium and the Netherlands in the field of mine warfare. The Russian Navy recently experimented the same concept from one of its Project 22350 frigate while the U.S. Navy did the same with one of its Spearhead-class EPF. Last but not least, South Korea is actively working on this concept as well.

France Approves Procurement Of 3 E-2D Advanced Hawkeye AEW&C Aircraft
The French Ministry of Armed Forces announced today that the acquisition of three E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft was approved on November 4, 2020.
Like the E-2C Hawkeye currently in service with the French Navy and implemented by the Flottille 4F squadron, the three E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft will be stationed at the Lann-Bihoué (Brittany) naval air base and deployed on the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, and eventually on its successor.

Artist impression released during Euronaval 2018 by Naval Group and Dassault Aviation showing the launch of a UCAV (right) and of an NGF (Next Generation Fighter) from what seems to be a waist catapult. Officials confirmed to us that this image implies the presence of 3 EMALS on the PANG (Credit: Dassault Aviation/Naval Group)
lol oui j'ai l'habitude aux US, cela arrive souvent...
