SAFN Model 49 Semi Auto Rifle in 30-06 cal marked Fabrique Nationale “ABL 1951”

This model is one of the scarce "Luxembourg" Contract rifles produced in 30-06 caliber and it is estimated that less than 10,000 total were produced in this contract. The rifle is equipped with an ABL sniper scope with matching numbers on the scope and sun shade. The scope is marked "ABL-1951 / V5-OS78-4010B.G. / TIR.EL.TELESC - SCHERPSCH". The scope has an Echo scope mount. The top of the receiver is marked with "AL" for "Armee Luxembourg" and has Belgium acceptance proofs. The right side of receiver is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES_HERSTAL BELGIQUE". It has a military style tangent rear sight graduated to 1000 meters, bayonet lug, sling swivels and box magazine. Walnut pistol grip stock with handguard, screwed on cheekpiece, and groove forearm. Matching number on receiver, bolt, and stock.

Gauge: 30-06

Finish: black anodized

Serial Number: 7124

Condition: Excellent. The rifle retains over 98% original black anodized finish with some minor muzzle wear and some scattered minor edge wear/flaking. The stock is excellent with a few minor pressure dents and a few mild dings. The scope retains 99% of the matte black finish with a few mild scratches. This is an exceptional example of a totally correct, no apologies, FN 49 sniper rifle.
