Merci mec... CA c'est de l'ARCHIVE de qualite. Pour ton info ca date de l'epoque ou BAe ET Dassault avaient cree une compagnie en commun pour ce genre de programmes. Le F-35 a tue tout ca dans l'oeuf.

In July 2005 the MoD announced the formation of a new research IPT, called the Strategic Unmanned Air Vehicles (Experiment) IPT, or SUAV(E) IPT for short. This new IPT replaced the FOAS IPT and took on its remaining work.

SUAV(E) is a capability and feasibility study to help identify technical and commercial options for the future of UAVs within the UK Forces. The Team includes QinetiQ, Rolls-Royce, Smiths Aerospace and BAE Systems’ Insyte business and is led by BAE Systems Air Systems.

BAE Systems’ current focus is risk-reduction programme addressing a range of issues impacting UAVs and associated Technologies.

The SUAV(E) programme is based on the successful, recently declassified, Corax and Raven demonstration programmes and MoD technology demonstration programmes executed over the past few years. BAE Systems’ Nightjar programme is another corner stone in the SUAV(E) methodology.

UK UCAVS

The UK Ministry of Defence will launch a new unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV) technology demonstration programme within the next few weeks, according to BAE Systems. The company will head an industry team including Qinetiq, Rolls-Royce and Smiths, which will inform MoD planning into the potential future acquisition and operation of offensive unmanned air vehicles.

And if i were you id be very carefull about it you might well have a huge (bad surprise)...

BAE to lead major UK UAV study

The UK Ministry of Defence is poised to launch a major project to explore emerging technologies for use across a range of future unmanned air vehicle systems, according to the head of the UK's leading defence contractor.

BAE Systems had early this year appeared set to secure a contract worth "tens of millions of pounds" to conduct a technology demonstrator project (TDP) to investigate unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV) technologies for the MoD, but chief executive Mike Turner says: "There have been discussions over many months and the position has changed. We now expect the MoD to launch a very large sized UAV programme." This is likely to encompass both unmanned strike platforms and unmanned reconnaissance systems, he says.

Highlighting achievements recorded since 2001 using company funded demonstrators including the UCAV-like Raven, Corax unmanned reconnaissance air vehicle and powered glider-based Herti surveillance platform, Turner says: "The MoD has been very impressed with the work we've done. We expect a very large TDP [contract] in the near future."

BAE released first details of its highly secretive UAV development activities late last year (Flight International, 20 December 2005-2 January). Its announcement coincided with the publication of the MoD's Defence Industrial Strategy White Paper, which outlined plans to make a decision on the UK's future mix of manned and unmanned aircraft "in the 2010-15 timeframe".

Noting that BAE is keen to continue its significant investment of recent years into unmanned systems technologies, Turner says: "We want to offer UAVs to the UK using UK technologies - that's why we've brought in companies like Qinetiq, Rolls-Royce and Smiths."

The MoD last week confirmed that it is "not far off" entering into an agreement with BAE for a future programme of UAV research activities, but declined to provide additional details. The UK is expected to make a significant investment in unmanned systems under its Project Dabinett intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance programme, which could soon be launched through the purchase of two General Atomics Predator B medium-altitude, long-endurance UAVs (Flight International, 5-11 September).

Speaking at a London press conference to announce BAE's financial results for the first six months of 2006, Turner also said the company expects to receive a UK production contract for Hawk 128 advanced jet trainers before year-end.

ROYAL AIR FORCE TO PUT BAE SYSTEMS’ ‘INTELLIGENT’ UAV THROUGH ITS PACES

BAE Systems is to work with the Royal Air Force’s Air Warfare Centre on a project to integrate the company’s HERTI Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) System into UK military exercises. This will be the first time a fully-autonomous UAV has been introduced into military exercises in the UK.

Called ‘Project Morrigan’, this programme is initially intended to run for two years. It will enable the introduction of BAE Systems’ fully-autonomous HERTI System into progressively more complex military exercises, in order to better understand the contribution autonomous UAV systems can make in the joint battlespace.

The agreement between the Air Warfare Centre’s Unmanned Air Vehicle Battlelab (AUB), the Ministry of Defence, and BAE Systems was signed by Mark Kane, Managing Director of BAE Systems’ Autonomous Systems & Future Capability (Air) and Air Commodore Tim Anderson, Commandant of the Air Warfare Centre (AWC). It marks a significant step forward in the development of UAV capabilities within the UK. Established earlier this year, the AUB’s Mission Directive is to test, evaluate and develop the potential for UAVs to be integrated into the Joint Operational air environment and deliver effective operational capabilities. Air Commodore Anderson said: “Through the integration of a HERTI system into existing UK Military exercises and training events, such as the operational flying phase of our Combined Qualified Weapons Instructor training, we plan to derive measurements of capability and potential Tactics, Techniques & Procedures (TTPs) for the integration of UAVs into joint manned / unmanned force structures. These are early stage assessments but they could have a significant impact on the way air warfare capabilities and doctrine develop in future years.” BAE Systems, which publicly launched the HERTI system at the recent Farnborough International Air Show, has welcomed the opportunity to work in partnership with the AUB. Mark Kane said: “These joint exercises will provide excellent feedback from realistic operational scenarios back into the rapid engineering process to mature the systems being offered into the market place. “ He added: “The Defence Industrial Strategy makes clear that the UK should be looking at ‘technology that can and should be inserted into future capabilities, directly improving the delivery of military effect’. Our work with the AUB is aimed at achieving exactly this result.”

C'est ecris dans leur DIS. D'autre part, quelqu'un avait poster un article d'un type (bien gradé) de BAe qui disait que BAe avait fait pression sur le royaume unis pour que la DIS integre plus de gros projets solo, et que si tel n'etait pas le cas ils accelereraient leur depart vers les USA. L'UCAV semble en faire partie, et ça a été facilité par l'abandon du J-UCAS. Mais certes, c'est marrant ce double changement de politique.

BAE Systems a travaille beaucoup dans le sector UAV/UCAV. Ils ont un UAV tactique [Herti-1A] avec un masse de ca. 450kg. Et cet UAV va avoir peute-etre des armes en futur. Herti est pour le marche du monde et BAE travaille sur un Herti "Medium Altitude Long Endurance" et un Herti "High Altitude Long Endurance". En futur Herti est peut-etre un famille de UAVs avec UAVs tactique, MALE et HALE. Tous les versions peut-etre avec des armes. Ce nouveaux program UAV/UCAV est probablement base sur le Raven et le Corax. Les premiers vols des Raven UAVs etaient en decembre 2003 et en novembre 2004. Le premier vol de Corax etait en 2005. Leur developpement est probablement aide par le Nightjar I et Nightjar II programs. Rolls-Royce peut-etre developpe un version UCAV du EJ200 pour le nouveau program UAV/UCAV. Il y a aussi des autres UAVs de BAE comme le Soarer, le Kestrel, l'Eclipse, Flaviir et Herti-D mais ce sont des petit programs R&D. BAE a paye 100 million pounds en les dernieres annees dans des programs UAVs.

BAE Systems is studying options for arming its Herti advanced unmanned air vehicle, including the Northrop Grumman Viper Strike guided munition. The company says it is still at an early stage of defining an armed weapons configuration, but is in talks with a variety of ordnance manufacturers about freefall release options, but excluding rocket-launched types. Studies are also under way on building hardpoints on to the Herti airframe. According to Martin Rowe-Willcocks, business development executive for military autonomous systems, at least two and potentially four hardpoints are possible, with both fuselage and wing positions being assessed. The addition of hardpoints would also allow for the carriage of podded special-mission payloads, with this including both sensors and possibly logistics modules. Rowe-Willcocks says the weaponisation studies represent "very early concept work" that will "allow us to understand how we could get to that stage if the customer requires it". BAE is, meanwhile, considering expanding the Herti family to include medium- and high-altitude, long-endurance variants.The Herti configuration unveiled at Farnborough has a 12m (39.3ft) wingspan and features twin fixed side-staring 12 megapixel wide- angle cameras that use mosaic imaging techniques to identify targets and cue the narrowband, turret-mounted electro-optical/infrared camera.

Herti plans revealed

BAE Systems is exploring potential development of a catapult-launched version of its Herti tactical unmanned air vehicle. Fit checks were carried out at the end of June at BAE's Warton facility in northern England using the company's new Rotax-powered version of Herti - which will be displayed at next week's Farnborough air show - and a Robonic pneumatic launcher. No launches have been made, but BAE and Robonic have jointly developed and "thrown" a representative dummy mass in a series of tests carried out in Finland in late 2005. Martin Rowe-Willcocks, BAE business development executive for military autonomous systems, says that the dummy load replicated the weight and centre of gravity characteristics of Herti. The dummy mass was the largest yet launched by Robonic, which recently demonstrated the catapult launch of Sagem Sperwer B and Elbit Hermes 450 UAVs. Full development of a catapult-launched version of Herti now depends on customer interest. "We are quite confident that should we have the chance to do it, we could do it," Rowe-Willcocks says, but the company "will not take the next steps without a real customer". Parallel concept work has been carried out within BAE on options for a reduced landing footprint for the UAV. Herti is already designed for operation from rough strips and the concepts under examination have included the fitting of arrester gear. Rowe-Willcocks says the catapult launch option is seen as opening wider potential mission applications for the aircraft, including the possibility of operation from large warships with onshore recovery.

Je trouve relativement marrant de voir que le Royaume Uni qui etait au centre de la coopération se retrouve en solo sur le l'UAV. Et c'est la France qui avait fait cavalier seul avec son Rafale qui se retrouve au centre de la cooperation européenne.

la perfide albion a eté tres forte en rentrant dans le programe JSF , trahissant ses partenaires de l'EF. [22]

Huh? L'Eurofighter n'a pas un version STOVL pour remplacer les Harriers. Et l'Italie est aussi en l'Eurofighter et le JSF. Ce sont 50% des partenaires d'Eurofighter. Et l'Espagne va acheter le JSF pour leur porte-aeroneuf, c'est tres sur. Mais ni Neuron ni le programme britannique va produire un UCAV en service. Ils sont des demonstrateurs technologique. BAE veut peut-etre un UCAV ou URAV "Eurofighter".

les Britanniques ont investit deux milliards de £ dans le JSF , si cet argent l'avait été pour l'EF....

On fait quoi est important pour le RAF et ils veulent un capabilite STOVL. Mais le JSF est en general tres bon pour l'industrie britannique. Notre argent, notre decision. Mais les partenaires donnent l'Eurofighter assez d'argent et son progres est tres bon en marche d'export et en general.

ça n'aurait servit a rien car l'EF a une facheuse tendance a aimé le gazon.
